The X-H2 uses the optional FT-XH file transmitter to initiate destination-neutral FTP, FTPS, or SFTP uploads over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB smartphone tethering. Its FTP profile, queue, file-type controls, and transfer behavior mirror the X-H2S workflow.

FTP features are available only with FT-XH attached. Keep both the camera and FT-XH on current compatible firmware; menu availability has changed through feature firmware releases. Physical Camera to Anywhere interoperability is not yet lab-verified.

BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE MENU

Prepare the camera.
Prepare the route.

Gather these items first, then enter the Camera to Anywhere job credential exactly as issued. The camera sends to the public ingest edge; your private destinations stay downstream.

PREREQUISITES
  1. 01

    X-H2 and FT-XH file transmitter running mutually compatible current firmware.

  2. 02

    A charged camera and transmitter, plus a memory card containing a test JPEG.

  3. 03

    A venue Wi-Fi network, Ethernet connection, or a smartphone with USB tethering enabled.

  4. 04

    Camera to Anywhere server address, protocol, port, username, password, and destination directory.

  5. 05

    For FTPS with a private trust chain, place the required root certificate on the camera memory card before setup.

CONNECTION FIELDS

FTP Server Type

FTP, FTPS, or SFTP as issued by Camera to Anywhere.

The protocol controls encryption, default port expectations, and whether passive mode applies.

FTP Server Address

The Camera to Anywhere hostname without a URL scheme or path.

The camera resolves this host as the upload destination.

Port Number

The assigned listener port.

The camera must reach the exact ingress listener.

Proxy Server

Disable unless the venue or organization explicitly supplies an FTP proxy address and port.

A normal hotspot or direct gateway connection does not need a proxy.

Passive Mode

Enable for ordinary FTP/FTPS deployments behind NAT unless the endpoint instructions say otherwise.

Passive mode avoids an inbound data connection from the server to the camera.

Login

Choose User Name & Password and enter the per-source credentials.

Per-source credentials associate uploads with the intended Camera to Anywhere input.

Specify Target Folder

Enter the assigned remote directory, or use Root Folder only when instructed.

The path routes files to the intended gallery or workflow.

Overwrite Same File Name

Prefer No during validation.

The camera then adds a number instead of replacing an existing remote file.

Root Certificate

For FTPS when required, load the approved root certificate from the memory card.

The FT-XH needs a trusted certificate authority for the TLS server.

LIMITS + WARNINGS
  • The FT-XH is required for FTP features.
  • USB smartphone tethering uses the transmitter connector, not the camera connector.
  • The documented workflow does not support Lightning camera adapters or USB OTG cables.
  • A profile should be re-tested after firmware or network changes.

TROUBLESHOOTING

01Connection test fails

Verify the communication profile, IP settings, hostname, port, protocol, directory, and login.

02Upload stalls behind a hotspot

Confirm the hotspot permits the port and enable passive mode for FTP/FTPS.

03FTPS trust failure

Load the correct root certificate and confirm the server hostname matches the certificate.

04Queue does not move

Set Transfer/Suspend to Transfer and confirm the completed connection profile is selected.
